The Neighborhood:
Manly Dam - right on your doorstep
The Manly Dam Walk is a beautiful 7.3 km circuit trail around Manly Dam that is still a bit of a hidden gem. With plenty of picnic and BBQ areas and scenic views around Manly Lake, this walking track is a great day out for the whole family.
The Manly Dam Reserve is now a recreational area with lots of activities to do in and around the lake, such as hiking, mountain biking, swimming, picnicking and even water skiing. It’s also home to a diverse range of plant communities with a great variety of native wildlife.
The views are spectacular from both sides of the dam and the walking track overall is well managed. On a regular weekday, there is plenty of parking, either on the streets or in the council car park within the parkland area.


Manly Lagoon Reserve also known as Lagoon Park is located in North Manly, right across the road from Keirlie Park. The reserve stretches from Pittwater Road on one side to North Steyne Road on the beach side.
It is a great family spot, with plenty of grassy areas for children to play on. For smaller kids there is a swing set and a new enclosed playground on the east side. A small car park as well as a toilet block is also located nearby.

The park has a pathway, so children can ride their bikes, scooters or roller blades or even fly a kite as there are large open areas.

The southern end of the reserve has outdoor exercise equipment and if you cross the road to Keirlie Park, you will find a large oval and also a skate park for older children.

If you want some more excitement, head down to Manly – simply follow the footpath, which takes you under the Queenscliff bridge and which continues along Manly beach right down to the Corso, where you will find plenty more shops, cafes and restaurants. A number of small playgrounds can have been built on the Manly Beach promenade, so expect a few pitstops along the way, if you have young children.
